Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust
Documentary
Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust works on sustainability at the scale of a whole town rather than a single site or project, and that is the claim the film opens with and then has to support. The Trust is also one of the two community anchor organisations in the River Ericht catchment, alongside Mount Blair Community Development Trust, which puts it in the same ground as the Cateran Ecomuseum and the Caterans Commonwealth work.
The Trust wanted a record of what it had done rather than a pitch for what it wanted to do next, and that changes the filming. A record is watched by people who were there, and it has to still be worth watching in ten years, so the priority is the work itself and the people doing it in the places where it happens.
The film runs to six and a half minutes and opens from the air, looking across the town and out towards the Ericht. I filmed and edited it.
