Science in mountain biking reveals the demands of enduro racing

The Sport and Exercise Science Department at Edinburgh Napier University partnered with Morrocco Media through a studentship to investigate the physical demands of elite-level enduro mountainbike racing.  With the use of Catapult Optimeye S5 devices and video analysis we investigated the variability in performance amongst several of the top 20 male riders.  The catapult devices were attached to both bike and rider to see how they both respond to the trail and how the rider deals with the bike and terrain.  The results will hopefully be published at some point in the future.
